Two older compounding lines from MOREIN PLASTICS were technically retrofitted by BSG. The proven mechanics were largely retained — the PLC system was completely renewed and brought up to current automation standards.

MOREIN PLASTICS has been operating two compounding lines in continuous 24/7 operation for around 15 years. In recent years, electronic problems with the existing PLC have become more frequent, leading to downtime and repair work. The solid mechanical basis of the systems formed the foundation for the modernization. Where necessary, mechanical components were specifically replaced. For the control system, MOREIN relied on BSG's automation expertise to ensure that the systems are future-proof.

After a comprehensive consultation, BSG developed a modernization concept with clear recommendations for technical implementation. The solution involved completely replacing the PLC and HMI hardware and completely rewriting the control and visualization program. The conveyor technology with silos and LIW feeders was also integrated into the new control system.

The first plant has already been successfully converted and put into operation. The new automation system is reliable, clear, and efficient. The conversion of the second line is imminent. Thanks to the new automation system, the proven mechanics can continue to be used - the investment is therefore limited to what is technically necessary.

All integrated units can now be controlled centrally via the HMI. With the upcoming modernization of the second line, the entire production process will be standardized and future-proofed.
